Charge Pump LED Driver Using CAT3649

A very simple LED driver electronic project can be designed using the CAT3649 high efficiency quad mode R fractional charge pump IC that can drive up to six LEDs. The inclusion of a 1.33x fractional charge pump mode increases the device efficiency by up to 10% over traditional 1.5x charge pumps with no added external capacitors.Low noise input ripple is achieved by operating at a constant switching frequency which allows the use of small external ceramic capacitors. The multi−fractional charge pump supports a wide range of input voltages from 2.4 V to 5.5 V. The LED current can be adjusted in different ways. The full−scale LED current is set to 25 mA once the device is enabled. Analog dimming in 32 linear steps is achieved via a 1−wire pulse−dimming input (ADIM) Further adjustment of the LED current can be done by applying a pulse width modulation (PWM) signal on the PWM input. The CAT3649 can be shut down by holding the ADIM or PWM input in a logic low condition for greater than 30 ms....

The output voltage of the LM3911 is directly proportional to temperature in degrees Kelvin at 10 mV/degree K. As you can see in this circuit diagram, LM3911 temperature sensor chip require few additional components. Temperature Controller Circuit Diagram:   The resistor network consists of R1, R2, and R3 is used to provide the set point voltage reference for the feedback input of the LM3911. R4 resistor is used to limit the current through the internal voltage reference of the LM3911. R5 resistor pulls the output of the IC high when the temperature is bellow the set point. The internal resistor is in series with a diode that allows a switching voltage up to 35 volts to be used. By modifying the R2 variable potentiometer you will modify the set point of the temperature controller. This s...

120W Stereo Amplifier using STK4241V

Here is a circuit 120 watt stereo amplifier using STK4241V . The MAX9710 a stereo audio power amplifier capable of delivering 2 x 120 W of the IC to put loads of 8 ohms. MAX9710 can be operated from ± 32V single power supply of ± 54V. This amplifier circuit is ideal for audio devices for home supply. STK4241V amplifier specifications might lead one to believe that you can use supply voltages of ± 78V. With zero input signal (and therefore no way out) I could, but I would not recommend anything better than ± 45V 8-ohm loads, if expected, although ± 54V will be fine if you can provide a good heat sink.

Arrow LED Indicator using 74hc14 IC

This arrow led indicator electronic project can be used in some dark places to show the directions . You can use to indicate direction just an illuminated arrow or a flashing light , but is much nicer if the light moves in the correct direction. This arrow led indicator is based on 74HC14 circuit and some LEDs which are used to show the way . For this arrow led indicator we need six series of three LEDs arranged in the shape of arrows and are connected to the outputs . Each time the lit arrows move over by one column so it appears that the arrows run from right to left. Arrow LED Indicator Circuit Diagram If we want to change the speed of the moving light it’s need to change the value of C1 to C3 or R1 to R3 ( a lower value for this components decrease the time of moving lights). If we want a longer arrow we can mount in parallel with existing columns another columns . For power supply we can use batteries or 6V regulated power supply .

Using the TLP250 Isolated MOSFET Driver Explanation and Example Circuits

I’ve already shown how to drive an N-channel MOSFET (or even an IGBT) in both high-side and low-side configurations in a multitude of ways. I’ve also explained the principles of driving the MOSFETs in these configurations. The dedicated drivers I’ve shown so far are the TC427 and IR2110. Some people have requested me to write up on MOSFET drive using the very popular TLP250. And I’ll explain that here. The TLP250, like any driver, has an input stage, an output stage and a power supply connection. What’s special about the TLP250 is that the TLP250 is an optically isolated driver, meaning that the input and output are “optically isolated”. The isolation is optical – the input stage is an LED and the receiving output stage is light sensitive (think “photodetector”). Before delving any further, let’s look at the pin configuration and the truth table. Fig. 1 - TLP250 Pin Configuration Fig. 2 - TLP250 Truth Table Fig. 1 clearly shows the input LED side and the receiving photodetector as well...

Small Audio Amplifiers Using LM386 and NE5534

Many electronic projects require the use of a small audio amplifier. Be it a radio transceiver, a digital voice recorder, or an intercom, they all call for an audio amp that is small, cheap, and has enough power to provide adequate loudness to fill a room, without pretending to serve a disco! About one Watt RMS seems to be a convenient size, and this is also about the highest power that a simple amplifier fed from 12V can put into an 8 Ohm speaker. A very low saturation amplifier may go as high up as 2 Watt, but any higher power requires the use of a higher voltage power supply, lower speaker impedance, a bridge circuit, or a combination of those. During my many years building electronic things I have needed small audio amps many times, and have pretty much standardized on a few IC solutions, first and and foremost the LM386, which is small, cheap, and very easy to use. But it does not produce high quality audio... For many applications, the advantages weigh more than the distortion an...

200 Watt Amplifier Circuit Diagram using TDA2030

This is a 200 Watt Amplifier Circuit Diagram that uses a TDA2030 IC which is an audio power amplifier 200 watt low cost. The 200 watts can be achieved with a load impedance of 4 ohms. The TDA2030 can typically provide up to 14 watts into a 4 ohm load, but if used in bridge mode and we use some cheap power transistors we can get to 200 watt. The design of this amplifier circuit 200 watt audio is very simple and requires few external components. For best performance, you can use a source of 28 volts (+ / - 14 volts), not more than 44 volts (+ / - 20 volts).  As you can see in the diagram, for this power amplifier circuit you need high capacity capacitors and a power supply high current. All transistors and ICS should be mounted on a heat sink to prevent damage by temperature. For small value resistors (1 ohm, 2.2 ohm) resistors use 2-5 watts.  200 Watt Amplifier Circuit Diagram using TDA2030
